Alex immigrated to the United States with his family from the former Soviet Union in 1980. He saw the value of hard work and fighting for what you want firsthand as his family navigated their way as foreigners in the United States, eventually settling in the suburbs of New York City. Neeti is the daughter of immigrant parents from India who came to this country with a single suitcase and built lucrative careers in Cleveland, Ohio. Alex and Neeti understand what it means to be treated differently because of who you are or where you come from. They know what it is like to be an underdog and to be up against seemingly insurmountable odds.
